Stephen Finch’s practice is directed to obtaining patents and counseling clients with respect to a variety of patent-related issues. He is experienced in drafting patent applications and licensing agreements and provides opinion letters regarding patentability and product clearance.

Steve has written and prosecuted patent applications for clients including sole inventors, start-ups, universities and Fortune 500 companies. These patent applications cover a variety of technical fields including polymers and plastics, membranes, filtration, water purification, ceramics, catalysts, drug discovery, medical devices, diagnostic instruments, analytical test kits, machinery, paints and varnishes, fuel cells, nanotechnology and business methods.

From 1983 until 1995 Steve was a principal and employee at Dexsil Corporation where he was involved in a variety of functions including management, sales, marketing and R&D. During his time at Dexsil, Steve developed and marketed test kits and instrumentation for the detection of hazardous materials in oil, soil and water.

Steve received his J.D. and Master of Laws in Intellectual Property degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1999 and a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry and math-economics from Colby College in 1983.
