Lizotte, Ph.D. is an associate of GTPP specializing in patent prosecution and other intellectual property matters in the areas of biomedical instrumentation and devices, analog and digital electronics, control systems, and communications. Prior to entering law school, Donna worked both in industry and academia. While a graduate student at the University of New Hampshire, she worked on developing noninvasive techniques for measuring blood flow in arteries for early detection of potential stroke victims. Her industry experience encompasses both biomedical research and development as well as technology development in the automotive arena. Examples of specific projects include pneumatic valves using piezoelectric actuators, motor controllers, and active microcontroller-based pneumatic seat surface contouring products for automotive, aircraft and home seating. Donna earned a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering, cum laude, in 1982, and an Engineering Ph.D., in 1991, specializing in biomedical engineering, both from the University of New Hampshire. She earned a J.D., cum laude, in 2006, from Franklin Pierce Law Center. She is admitted to practice before the state courts of New Hampshire and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. She is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Donna is a member of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society, the Sigma Xi scientific research society, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the American Bar Association and the New Hampshire Bar Association. Donna resides on the New Hampshire seacoast and enjoys cooking, reading and driving her antique automobiles.
