Richard D. Rhodes, Jr., GTPP’s patent agent, focuses on patent matters related to plastic materials, apparatus and processes, particularly in the automotive field. Dick concentrates on database searches, drafting patent applications and suggesting "design-arounds" for clients.
Prior to joining GTPP, his career spanned over 35 years in product development and technical management—primarily in plastics—with Textron Automotive. Dick led teams through the development and launch of new products and processes. He holds 30 U.S. patents in the fields of thermoplastic and integral skin urethane, air bag doors, instrument panels, plastics engineering technology, seating comfort systems and automotive washer systems.
He received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1963 and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire in 1973. He is a senior member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
Dick is a past president and publicity chairman of the Southeastern New Hampshire Bowling Association and coaches bowling on all levels from youth to college teams. He also enjoys skiing, NASCAR racing, running and his grandchildren. He resides in Somersworth, New Hampshire.
